Basic traffic course
Trafikalt grunnkurs (basic traffic course incl. first aid, 16 hrs): 1 480 kr
The basic traffic course is the first step towards a driving licence, and is mandatory for everyone under 25 taking a licence for the first time. It is 17 teaching hours over four sessions plus the night-driving session, and includes first aid. If you are over 25 you skip the main part of the course, but you still have to do first aid and the night-driving session. Once you have completed it, you can start practising, both privately and with us. If you take the course between March and October without the night-driving part, your certificate is valid until 31 October, and the night driving must be done by 1 November. We run the course at both branches and at schools around Bergen throughout the year.
How the training works
- Traffic awareness
Why crashes happen, who is most at risk, and what separates a new driver from an experienced one. The foundation the rest of the training builds on.
- First aid
Practical first aid for road collisions: securing the scene, raising the alarm, and what to do before help arrives.
- Road user in the dark
The night-driving part of the course. It runs during the dark season, 1 November to 15 March, because it cannot be done on light evenings.
- After the course
Once it is complete you can start practising, both privately with an accompanying driver and with us.
